The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year. The ancient festival of Yule, celebrated around the time of the Solstice, honours the rebirth of the sun as it goes from its weakest & lowest point today, growing in strength until the midsummer solstice.
The Winter Solstice marks the return of the sun, and lengthening days. So it seemed a good fit for the "Bring Me Sunshine" theme - it's the time we are all desperate for sunshine and celebrate the promise of it's return ☀️
