"The Bear in Blue" by @georgiagreenart
The Bear in Blue is a four-colour risograph (riso) edition, named for Georgia’s love of the illustrated children’s book by Raymond Briggs simply titled The Bear. A riso machine is a Japanese stencil duplicator similar to silkscreen in nature. The riso prints one colour at a time in bright, vibrant hues to create rich overlays of grainy texture. Riso inks are made from natural, archival rice-bran inks. These inks are a recycled byproduct of the Japanese farming industry making them very sustainable. The Bear in Blue is printed with Blue, Red, Black and Sunflower riso ink on archival Munken paper.
