"Sound and Vision" by @chai_monster_productions
The TPP 2025 brief of "Sound and Vision" could only mean one thing to this Bowie fan : a tribute to his 1977 song of the same name. Taken from the musician's eleventh album, 'Low' the upbeat music truly belies the lyrics, which were written whilst Bowie was trying to kick his drug addiction.
Described by the artist as his "ultimate retreat song ", when you listen to his words against this context they have an altogether darker meaning, alluding to the creative block in which Bowie's mental state was confirming him:
Don't you wonder sometimes
About sound and vision?
Blue, blue, electric blue
That's the colour of my room
Where I will live
Blue, blue
Pale blinds drawn all day
Nothing to do, nothing to say
Blue , blue
I will sit right down
Waiting for the gift of sound and vision
And I will sing
Waiting for the gift of sound and vision
Drifting into my solitude
Over my head
Don't you wonder sometimes
About sound and vision?
