"Anemone" by @amanda_ribbans
This print depicts a white Japanese anemone, a flower with personal meaning for me. For several years I had tried, unsuccessfully, to grow the white variety, so seeing it finally flower this year felt like a quiet but genuine achievement. The anemones were in bloom when I returned from holiday, and they felt like a welcome home—an acknowledgement of time passing and of the patience required to grow them. I was so delighted by their abundance that I wanted to mark the moment through printmaking. This single bloom serves as a test piece, exploring how the flower might be translated into a reduction linocut.
