"Little Urban Sun " is a drypoint print of a dandelion bravely poking it's yellow head up through some gravel. A little drop of sunshine in an urban environment.
The image is created by scratching into a plastic plate with various needles and other tools. This creates a rough surface which holds the ink. Tacky ink is then spread on the surface and wiped away. The roughened areas hold the ink and smooth areas allow the ink to be wiped away leaving white areas on the print. The plate is printed onto damp paper using an etching press.
Drypoint and chine colle on Fabriano Unica paper. Printed area is 14 cm x 14cm.
